Tirrena: An artisan pasta line from Frescobaldi.
Pasta Tirrena comes from the best terroir for growing ancient grains, thanks to the mineral soils, mild climate, and breezes from the Tyrrhenian Sea. Grains are sourced southwest of Florence on the Frescobaldi estates. The features of the terroir and the 72-hour minimum natural drying process, combined with the knowledge of the Frescobaldi family, give this pasta a unique personality.
Tortiglioni are tubes that are larger than penne and longer than rigatoni. These are perfect for virtually any sauce or topping, but they are a favorite for baked pasta dishes. For an authentic dish-- toss with fresh peas, guanciale or prosciutto, mint, and pecorino.
